The Collector’s Tales: A Collectible Magazine for Speculative Fiction

Today, Untitled Frontier, is launching its second media property: a collectible magazine for speculative fiction. With the launch of Mirror’s Writing NFTs, it’s a perfect match for what we had in mind!

The premise is simple: speculative fiction writers submit stories under creative commons, we curate them, publish it as a Mirror Writing NFT (a collectible cover image), and then share the revenue (80 (writer)/20 (untitled frontier) split).

This is a new approach to a magazine and we’re going to take the first season (8 stories) as a learning experience to determine what works and what doesn’t. Soon, we’ll open up it for submissions alongside more specific guidelines! Sign up for the newsletter and follow us on Twitter to get updates.

The Serendipity of Self

The first story was written by myself (Simon de la Rouviere).

Suffering induced memory loss, Grayson wakes up to a world where everyone’s private messages were leaked. Delving deeper, he comes face to face with a surreal new reality.

The NFTs are minted on Optimism L2 and it’s an edition of 1000 for 0.01 ETH each.

The Logged Universe vs The Collector’s Tales

The Logged Universe is our shared story universe, asking questions about the future and nature of humanity through the existence of a simulation. We produce new stories with writers and create custom NFTs for each story.

The Collector’s Tales is a speculative fiction magazine with simple collectible cover images as NFTs.

In short, the differences between The Logged Universe & The Collector’s Tales are:

new stories produced with writers vs existing stories submitted for publication

custom, dynamic NFT collections vs cover image NFT editions

open supply (for campaign period) vs capped

4 formats: blog, ebooks, podcast, youtube vs 1 format: blog

50/50 split vs 80/20 split

Thank you for being a part of this journey helping to reinvent storytelling for this era! Please share, collect, and delve into the stories we’ve published. Enjoy!
